When the Bauhaus design movement began in the early twentieth century in Germany, few realized the impact this would have, particularly as a carryover to the twenty-first. Strangely, the two movements, if one can call the latter such, have something in common, the Bauhaus as a reaction to social transformation and aesthetic relevance, while the cocoon boom is making a societal change of a different sort, using aestheticism to change how people live.
