Innovation - modern living room furniture

Innovation was founded in 1971 in Denmark by Flemming Hoejfeldt, who is still the owner and CEO of the company. Inspired by his personal experience with the first production communities of the flower power generation, he started the company with a production of beanbags.

For 15 year Innovation functioned as a supplier for the furniture industry, but at the end of the 80’es the desire to produce own design took over. A decision that started out with competition among design students at the School of Architecture in Aarhus and ended up with a concept for very contemporary sofa sleepers. As the concept grew, Innovation was rewarded with several design prizes and engaged in a very fruitful cooperation with the famous Danish designer, Vemer Panton. Innovation USA was founded in 1991 and today Innovation is an international furniture enterprise with production facilities in Denmark, China and the US. Our design is available around the globe. Innovation is not just a name, it is what we do and live for. Our design in founded in the Scandinavian design traditions of simplicity and care for the detail. The Head of Design at Innovation is the Industrial Designer Per Weiss, born in Denmark in 1959. Per Weiss is working on multiple platforms and has been responsible for concept, product design and marketing at Innovation since 1989.
